Call Center Automation

Which Calls Can AI Handle on Its Own?

Voice agents take the routine, high-volume calls, so your agents can focus on the ones that need judgment.

  • Tier-1 Call Deflection

Order and delivery status, appointment changes, balance and due-date checks, store hours and policy questions, resolved end to end.

  • Intent-Based Routing

Callers say what they need in their own words. The agent identifies intent and routes to the right queue or skill group.

  • Caller Verification

Verifies identity with your existing checks before sharing account details, then passes the verified status to the human agent.

  • Multilingual Service

Handles calls in English, Hindi and other languages, and routes callers to agents who speak their language.

  • Human Handoff

Transfers to a person with the transcript and a summary attached, so callers don't have to repeat themselves.

  • Overflow and After-Hours

Picks up peak-time overflow and out-of-hours calls instead of sending callers to long queues or voicemail.

Agent Assist and QA

How Does AI Help Human Agents?

On the calls your team takes, AI listens alongside the agent and handles the busywork before, during and after the call.

  • Live Transcription

A running transcript of the call on the agent's screen, so details like names, numbers and order IDs aren't missed.

  • Suggested Answers

Relevant knowledge-base articles, next steps and compliance prompts surface as the conversation unfolds.

  • Call Summaries

A summary, disposition and follow-up tasks drafted automatically at the end of the call, ready for the agent to confirm.

  • QA on Every Call

Each transcript is scored against your QA checklist: greeting, verification, required disclosures, resolution and tone.

  • Conversation Analytics

See why customers call, where calls go wrong and which topics drive repeat contacts, across all calls.

  • Coaching Insights

Supervisors get flagged calls and patterns per agent, so coaching is based on evidence, not a handful of samples.

How It Works

How We Roll Out AI in Your Contact Center

  1. Call Analysis

We review call reasons, volumes and transcripts or recordings to find the best first queue to automate or assist.

  2. Integration Design

We plan how AI connects to your contact center platform, CRM, knowledge base and identity checks.

  3. Pilot One Queue

We launch self-service or agent assist on one queue, with clear handoff rules and success metrics.

  4. Measure and Tune

We track containment, transfers, handle time and QA scores, and tune prompts, flows and knowledge weekly.

  5. Scale Across Queues

We extend to more queues, languages and use cases, with QA and analytics covering every call.

What Is an AI Call Center?

An AI call center is a contact center where AI does part of the work at every stage of a call: before it (understanding intent and routing), during it (resolving routine requests or assisting a human agent) and after it (summaries, quality checks and analytics). It is not a new phone system. It is a layer that works alongside your contact center platform, your CRM and your team.

Most of what people call "AI contact center solutions" falls into three groups: self-service voice agents, real-time agent assist and conversation analytics. Aaga builds all three, often starting with one, using the same voice AI agent technology we use for inbound and outbound calls.

Where Does AI Fit in a Contact Center?

AI is most useful where work is repetitive and well defined. People stay in charge of judgment, empathy and exceptions.

Stage What AI does What stays with people
Call arrives Understands the reason in the caller's own words, verifies identity, routes by intent and language Defining routing rules and priorities
Self-service Resolves routine tier-1 calls end to end through your systems Complex, sensitive or high-value calls
Live call Transcribes, suggests answers, surfaces required disclosures The conversation and the decision
After the call Drafts summary, disposition and follow-up tasks Confirming and correcting the record
Quality and insight Scores every call against your QA checklist, finds trends Coaching, calibration and process changes

Which Calls Should You Automate First?

The best first calls are frequent, follow clear rules, have a clear finish line and rely on data your systems already hold. Good candidates include order and delivery status, appointment changes, balance and due-date questions, address updates after verification, and store or branch information.

Keep these with people, at least at first: complaints, disputes, cancellations with retention offers, vulnerable customers and anything with legal or medical weight. The voice agent should recognize these calls and transfer them quickly, with a summary.

How Does AI Work Alongside Genesys, Five9, Amazon Connect and Others?

You don't need to replace your contact center platform to add AI. Aaga builds voice agents and agent assist that work alongside platforms such as Genesys, Five9, Amazon Connect, Twilio Flex, Exotel and Ozonetel. Common integration patterns:

  • SIP transfer. The platform sends selected calls to the voice agent over SIP, and the agent transfers back to a queue when a person is needed.
  • Audio streaming. Live call audio is streamed to the agent-assist service for transcription and suggestions.
  • APIs and webhooks. Summaries, dispositions, tags and QA scores are written back to the platform and your CRM.
  • Context passing. Caller identity, intent and the conversation so far travel with every transfer.

The exact options depend on your platform edition and the APIs it exposes. For agents that also act across back-office systems, see our AI agent development services.

Which Call Center Metrics Should You Track?

Measure AI against the same numbers your contact center already runs on, and record a baseline before launch:

  • Containment rate: the share of calls the voice agent resolves without a transfer
  • Transfer rate and reasons: why calls leave the AI, which shows what to improve next
  • Average handle time (AHT) and after-call work for human agents
  • First-contact resolution (FCR): whether the issue was solved on the first call
  • Customer satisfaction (CSAT): post-call surveys on AI and human calls
  • QA coverage and scores: the share of calls reviewed, and how they score

Turning transcripts into dashboards and trend reports is a data project in its own right. Our data analytics services team builds that reporting layer.

How Do You Handle Compliance and Recording Consent?

Compliance in an AI call center comes down to consent, data handling and audit trails. Callers should hear that the call may be recorded and that they may be speaking with an AI. Recording consent rules differ by country and, in the US, by state, with some states requiring the consent of all parties. Card payments need flows that keep card data out of recordings and transcripts to support PCI DSS. Transcripts should have personal data redacted where it isn't needed, and storage should follow data protection laws such as GDPR or India's DPDP Act. Health-related contact centers in the US may also need to meet HIPAA requirements. If AI scores or monitors your own agents' performance, employment and AI rules can apply too; the EU AI Act, for example, treats AI used to monitor and evaluate workers as high-risk. This is general information, not legal advice. Have your legal and compliance team review the final design.

Multilingual contact centers need extra care with speech quality and language detection. Our guide to voice AI in Indian languages covers code-mixed speech, accents and testing.

Popular Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

An AI call center is a contact center that uses AI for part of its work: voice agents resolve routine calls, AI assists human agents during live calls, and analytics review every conversation afterward. It usually runs alongside your existing contact center platform rather than replacing it.

Not in most contact centers. AI takes over repetitive tier-1 calls and after-call admin, while people handle complex, sensitive and high-value conversations. Many teams use the freed-up time to shorten queues and improve service on the calls that matter most.

Aaga builds voice agents and agent assist that work alongside contact center platforms such as Genesys, Five9, Amazon Connect, Twilio Flex, Exotel and Ozonetel, typically through SIP transfers, audio streaming and the platform's APIs. What's possible depends on your platform edition and the APIs it exposes, which we check during the consultation. Aaga is not a partner of these vendors.

Agent assist is AI that listens to a live call and helps the human agent in real time. It shows a running transcript, suggests answers and next steps from your knowledge base, reminds agents of required disclosures and drafts the call summary at the end.

Every call is transcribed, then an AI model scores the transcript against your QA checklist, such as greeting, identity verification, required disclosures, resolution and tone. Supervisors review flagged calls and trends instead of a small random sample, and keep the final say on scores.

Callers are told that the call may be recorded and that they may be speaking with an AI, following the consent rules for each location you serve, which differ between countries and US states. For card payments we design flows that keep card data out of recordings and transcripts, for example by pausing recording or using keypad entry. Your compliance team should review the final setup.

Track containment rate (calls fully resolved by AI), transfer rate, average handle time, after-call work time, first-contact resolution, customer satisfaction and QA scores. Record your baseline before launch so you can compare results queue by queue.

Start with one queue and one goal, such as automating order-status calls or adding agent assist for a single team. Aaga runs a free consultation to pick that queue, then a scoped pilot with agreed metrics before anything scales.
